Limousine Hiring For Dummies

If you’re considering hiring a limousine service, there are a number of factors you have to consider before you zero in on a limousine operator. Or else, you will be taken for a fine ride. The rental cost is quite important, but it should never be the sole deciding factor. To help you choose the best limousine company for your needs, we’ve created a list of questions that you shouldn’t hesitate to ask. A reliable and professional limousine operator will willingly give you all the answers.

How long has the limousine operator been in business and how many cars do they have in their fleet?

An established limousine operator is not always better than a new one. However, its quite crucial that an operator has ample cars as back up just in case the one you’re riding in breaks down.

What type of limousine do you require?

Limousines are nowadays available in various styles and colors. Will the limousine operator be able to provide the particular style that you’re looking for?

How are the chauffeurs?

Its important that the chauffeur driving the limousine is a professional, well attired, experienced, licensed and trained. You obviously wanted to be treated in style and have someone who will open your doors and carry your luggage. At the same time, you don’t want someone who will cut lanes and race you down the road.

What about pick ups and drops?

Will your operator arrange for you to be picked up and drive you exactly to your destination? What about the return journey? Does the limousine operator run services in those areas? It best to make it clear where you would want to be picked up from and the time you want to be collected. Do this before you pay any money.

What are the rental charges?

Always ask your operator what the rental charge for the particular car you’re hiring is. Rental fees vary with the type of the vehicle and the duration you’ll be hiring it for. Most companies charge you for a minimum number of hours, even if you wont be using the car for that long.

What about payment?

How are you supposed to pay? Payment methods may be different for different limousine companies. Generally, half the total rental fee is paid by credit or debit card at the time of the booking. The balance is paid in cash to the driver.

What about Insurance?

Some companies evade insuring their vehicles and occupants as its an expensive overhead. The law requires all limousine rental companies to arrange for proper private hire insurance. Its best that you check this with the limousine operator. A professional limousine operator will be able to provide you with proof of their insurance details.

Once you’ve verified all these questions, be assured that the limousine operator is reliable and professional. You can sit back then and enjoy your journey!

Drug Rehabilitation – No easy options

Drug Rehabilitation centers provide the essential support that addicts need, if they are to kick their drug habit.

Drug rehabilitation is best handled in a residential setting, where the clients have no access with the outside world. Mobile phones, Internet access and phone calls are not allowed. This is to prevent clients arranging illicit supplies and undoing all the good work being done.

They are not rest homes and many addicts find the regime unpleasant, but that is only to be expected with any system that deprives them of their daily drug needs.

Before sending an addict for treatment you should visit the center and assess for yourself the level of care and treatment provided. Having made a careful decision you will have to harden yourself against your relative’s complaints.

Drug addiction is physical as well as a mental dependence on drugs. A drug addict’s body has adjusted to cope and expect the daily dose of whatever substance the addict is using. The body shows unpleasant withdrawal symptoms that the addict has to go through.

A rehab center will have medical, nursing and care staff to cope with the needs of the addicts. This should reassure addicts’ relatives, who will have no contact at all for the first month or so, and only limited contact after that.

The cost of drug rehabilitation is high, but worthwhile to the addict’s parents. The high cost is inevitable with residential treatment and the cost of nursing and medical staff wages. The treatment will only be permanent however, if the addict has made the decision to come off drugs him or her self.

Permanent rehabilitation means that the client will need support after leaving the rehabilitation center. He or she will need a job and some positive leisure activity that will ensure total removal from the circumstances leading to the previous addiction.

Addicts and relatives need to be aware that one dose of the drug that caused the addiction is enough to undo all the hard work and send the addict back to square one. Drug addiction, like alcoholism is permanent, there is no cure, only help to get through the withdrawal symptoms.

Business Coaching

I have this philosophy that I seem to live by lately. Since I am so busy working on or in my businesses, I really hate to sit down and figure stuff out. I am at the point in my life where I can live without that frustration. I would rather just someone sit me down and tell me to do this, then this, then this. Order or a check list is something I can relate to and would rather spend my time with. Figuring something out is dead time for me; I would rather pay someone else to teach me how to be an expert in something. Outsourcing talent like this is the mentality you need to absorb if you want to be successful in small business and in e commerce.

When I was a kid I loved sports. My father was not a sports guy, so throwing the ball around in the backyard and getting instruction was not in the cards for me. So I learned by myself and figured it out by trial and error. Is this a bad thing? It might be or it might not matter at all, depending on what your goals are. Today I enjoy teaching my son sports and giving him instruction. I think about the fact that if he learns some fundamentals and some good form now, he will be ahead of the pack later on. This may or may not be true if the boy does not show talent or is not interested. The same goes for business.

Think of all the research time you spend trying to figure something out. I have spent countless thousands of hours trying to figure out concepts or business models just to decide if something is worth pursuing or not. A lot of time is spent figuring out if the “guru” who is teaching me or guiding me knows what they are doing or are a legitimate example. I have seen so many products or eBooks claiming they will show you everything you want to know to become the expert in a certain area. Half the battle for me is deciding if this person is a real expert or someone that is just trying to con me out of my hard earned money. There are people who can teach and there are people who “do” I want the guy that can do both. Enter the business coach.

So what does this business coach do for you? Well for me, I like the practical approach. I say, here are my goals, what are the steps to attain it? Give me a list to check off and show me what I don’t know. I want to be reassured I am going in the right direction, not that the direction is worth following. I will gladly pay you money if you show me what to do. This should be your approach too. Do enough homework to know what direction you want to go in. Get educated in what the avenues are so that you can start down one when given instruction. A good example of this is search engine optimization if you have a web site. There is a ton of different ways to market your site, but which one is best? Get familiar with a lot of them and then hire a coach. Tell him what your goals are, if he is listening and has some experience they will know what to tell you. If they don’t, you will have just enough knowledge to know to move on to the next one.

Motivation to Lose Weight

When you are diabetic you have probably read in many places and have heard from your
doctor how beneficial it is for you to lose weight. But that doesn’t make it any easier to
do. It is difficult to do, but everyone is right; you will reap many benefits from losing
weight including managing your diabetes and blood glucose levels.

If you are already motivated to lose weight and just don’t know where to begin, make an
appointment with your doctor or diabetes educator. They can provide you with
information on a healthy eating plan and approve the type of exercises you should begin
with. Getting the okay from your doctor before starting any physical routine is a good
idea so you do not over-do it at the beginning creating more harm than good.

If you have tried to lose weight before and know that it is a hard road, you may find the
motivation you need through a support group. Having a network to back you up when
you are having a hard day or the commitment of meeting someone at the gym can get you
through the rough patches ahead.

As you reach certain milestones in your weight loss journey set reward points for yourself
as motivation. You may decide to reward yourself when you lose 10 pounds or it might
be going for a walk 5 times in one week – whatever you need help with. Your reward
can be anything that will make you work harder – renting a movie, a new pair of shoes –
make it special.

As you continue to lose weight and become more active keep a careful eye on your blood
sugars and insulin requirements. You may find that you are requiring less insulin as you
drop the pounds. Keep in contact with your doctor and update him on your progress

Dealing with Addiction in your Family

Finding a Job is a Full Time Job

1) Approach finding a job as if it were a full-time job, because it is. If you had a job, you would report to work at the same time each day (like 8 am), take an hour (or less) for lunch, and quit at the same time each day (like 5 pm). You would work five days every week. And you would work hard to accomplish as much as you could because your career depended upon it.

When you are searching for a job, you should follow the same type of schedule because your future depends upon it.

Treating your job search like a part-time hobby guarantees that it will take longer.

So, begin tomorrow by reporting to work and spending the day on tasks that lead to a job.

2) Approach finding a job as if it were a project. That means you should set goals for yourself, make plans, and monitor your progress. You should apply all of the tools and skills that you used in your last job to the project of finding your next job.

As you must expect, this is an important project. The sooner you complete it, the sooner you gain a promotion into a job.

3) Be your own boss. Set expectations for what you need to accomplish, provide direction, and monitor your work.

Meet with yourself once each week to evaluate your performance. I recommend doing this by writing two reports. The first is a candid evaluation of what you accomplished during the previous week. The second is a description of your plans for the coming week. Your plans should include your goals, actions, and priorities.

The first time that you write these reports, write an evaluation of what you have done so far. Describe the results that this effort has produced. And compare these results with what you wanted to have.

Next, map out a realistic plan for the next week based on achievable goals. For example, you could set goals for the number of people you will call, the number of networking meetings you will attend, and the research you will conduct.

In the coming weeks, compare the results that you obtained during the previous week with the goals that you set. For example, if you planned to attend twelve networking meetings and you attended only two, you should a) explain why this happened and b) plan actions that will correct such a difference. You should also analyze why you missed your goal because this provides insights on what you need to do differently. For example, Your goal (e.g., of attending twelve networking meetings) may have been set too high. Or maybe there are things you can do that will make it easier to achieve your job search goals, such as car pooling with a friend who is also looking for a job.

Finding a job is a full time job. Work through it with a plan and the support of a good boss (yourself).

I wish you the best of success.

Vegetarian Diet for Optimal Personal and Environmental Health

It’s been well documented through the years that vegetarians are healthier than people who eat meat. Vegetarians are less likely to be obese, or to have high blood pressure, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, or colon cancer. They are also less likely to die from heart disease. Vegetarians have lower blood pressure even when they eat the same amount of salt as meat eaters and exercise less. Many studies show that vegetarians have less instances of colon cancer, due in large part to the differences in the bacterial flora that is present in the colon.

There are many factors in the vegetarian diet that contribute to better health. Vegetarians consume two to three times as much fiber as do meat-eaters, which has been shown to reduce cholesterol and blood glucose levels, and protect against colon cancer. They also consume more antioxidants, which are found in a wide variety of plant foods and protect cells from oxygen-induced damage and reduce the risk for heart disease, arthritis, cancer, and other diseases.

Vegetarians eat more isoflavones than do meat eaters. These compounds, found mostly in soy foods, are a type of phytochemical. Research shows that isoflavones may reduce the risk for prostate cancer and may improve bone health. Vegetarians also consume much less saturated fat and cholesterol than do meat eaters, resulting in significantly lower levels of blood cholesterol, decreased instances of heart disease and possibly for diabetes and cancer. And, since vegetarians do not eat meat, they are not exposed to heme iron, a type of iron found in meat that may increase the risk of heart disease and cancer.

And lastly, vegetarianism is not only optimally healthy for your body, but your environment and the planet’s animals. It allows you to live more harmoniously with the world around you, which improves mental and emotional health accordingly.

Concrete Cleaning Equipment

Pressure Washer Concrete Cleaning Equipment
By Lance Winslow

Cleaning concrete is tough and there is an easy way and a hard way. There is one thing you need to understand when you are pressure washer cleaning concrete; the concrete cannot always be made to look brand new again after it has been stained. You can always get stains lighter or bleached but completely removing it is very difficult, sometimes you get lucky, but if you are looking for perfection, chances are you will be underwhelmed. So when talking to customers let them know up front and explain this to them otherwise they will be asking for a job that just can’t be done unless the entire concrete slab is ripped up and re-poured.

Let’s talk about equipment that is needed for this type of work. Remember safety is always important when working with a pressure washer. Some times there are chemicals involved in cleaning some stains. Thus, you should always use some type of eye protection. Also, when you are using chemicals you need to wear jeans to protect your legs. Chemicals made for concrete are very strong and should not be toyed with. Would a person rather work with dry feet or wet? It is recommended that you get rubber waders or some type of rubber boot. They will keep your feet from getting wet and keep them from getting burned by the 250 degree water.

Orange cones are also important to have for this job. These help make people visually aware that you are there if you are in a high traffic area or where there are a lot of contract workers at say a newly constructed house that needs the concrete cleaned. This makes everyone around you safe and you are helping prevent accidents. Of course you are going to need a Hydro-Twister for this job. You can technically do the job with a wand but it will take a lot more time and water, not to mention you can cause streaking if you are not using even strokes across the slab of concrete. Most of the new hot water pressure washers have an option of a hydro twister type unit but if you don’t have one and or you need a second unit we recommend that you go to buy one. When buying a hydro twister buy the larger of the two. There my be only a 5 inch difference in surface coverage but it is well worth it when you are trying to save time without cutting corners.

Putting Yourself in Someone Else’s Shoes

Have you ever just sat down to brunch on a quiet morning at home and had the doorbell ring? Have you ever opened your email and found 25 spam mails where someone was trying to sell you something? It makes you wish that the sales people of the world would just leave you to hell alone and let you get on with a nice weekend.

Now put yourself in the shoes of a good dev person who is not really looking for a new job. They have nothing that they really want to change about their life and they aren’t actually looking for a new job.

You are the sales person who is annoying them and trying to get them to notice you. They know quite well that you’re receiving a good commission so the standard mindset is that you’re using them to get a nice payday.

How would that make you feel? Would you be put off and looking for a way to get them out of your view? In most cases, that’s how your dev prospects feel.

Most of us as dev recruiters don’t take the time to put ourselves in the prospect or the candidates shoes. We don’t get why they might feel uncomfortable and why they might be uncomfortable putting their future in the hands of someone they don’t know and are not sure has their best interests at heart.

If you put yourself in the candidates shoes then you’ll take a different approach. You’ll show them somehow that while you are getting a paycheck you do genuinely care about the job you are filling and the person who will fill it. Your prospects do not want to be sold. They want to be considered and cared about and they want you to show them that your prospects or candidates are respected for their skills and their accomplishments.

If you’re looking for great candidates and you want them to really listen to you, it’s way past time to get over the old tired sales techniques and move on to something new and something different… something that actually works.

Get creative and think seriously about what you would want if you were a candidate and then offer that something new and unique to them. You might be surprised how well it works.
